The Garden is Done!!
After a whole lot of work and sore backs, knees and hands the garden is done. Our matching heating pads sure got a workout this week. We finished putting the woven week mat in the raised beds. The only thing left to do is to put up supports for the tomatoes and cucumbers.
G burned holes in the mat so it wouldn't fray. We have fingers crossed that this will help keep out the majority of weeds.
We have planted tomatoes, sweet pepper, hot peppers, onions, cabbage, brussels sprouts
2 kinds of watermelon. 2 kinds of cantaloupe, red potatoes, gold potatoes, sweet potatoes
peas, carrots, green beans, luffa, marigolds
strawberries, garlic, kidney beans, cauliflower, cucumbers
The blueberries G planted a few weeks back didn't make it so we bought some more. We planted them in big containers.
The herb garden is planted and we put in some sugar baby watermelon on the very end.
We have a couple little peaches on our new peach tree
The chicks were moved to their outside coop and run. They are loving it. They will stay there until they are the same size as the hens.
Next is the patio and the flower beds. They are such a weedy mess.
We are still on baby watch with Callie.
Here is a tip we learned this week from a friend. If you get stung by a bee, put some toothpaste on it. Our friends were here and G got stung by a bee twice. They told him about the toothpaste. He put it on and it stopped hurting immediately. And there was no swelling
How was your week?
