All of us on the farm wish you and yours a blessed Easter. He is risen!!!
Harmony had just 1 doeling. Libby weighed 3 lb 14 oz. She came out yelling. She is the laziest baby I have seen. She will play for a while then go to the barn to nap.
Hailey had triplets. This is her first born, Lefty. He weighed 3 lbs 9 oz. The tendons in his legs are really tight. We massage his legs 3 or 4 times a day and put splints on them. They should straighten in a few days.
Hailey's second born is Lex. He weighed 3 lbs 6 oz. Lots of moonspots. Blue eyes
Hailey's 3rd boy, Linus. He weighed 3 lbs 6 oz. another blue eyed baby.
The last one born this week is Bea's little girl, Luna. She weighed 3 lb. 14 oz.
All done kidding for now. I can now sleep at night. All of the babies have been outside to play. It is fascinating to see how each personality is emerging. Some are so laid back and others zip all over the place. I would like to have an eighth of their energy. Mamas and babies are all doing well.
Goals for this week is hoof trimming and barn cleaning. I milk out one side of the does that had a single kid. They only nurse on one side. I give supplement bottles to some of Callie's quads. (Mostly Little Bit. He tries to steal milk from the other mamas until they realize it is not their kid)
All of the babies will be for sale when they are weaned. All boys will be castrated unless reserved as a buck with a deposit.
I want to give a huge shout out to G. He is so wonderful doing chores, fixing fences and most of the heavy lifting around the farm. And he does it without complaint. I would never be able to do this without him. I am so blessed to have him standing by my side.
How was your week?
