FRIDAY FARM REPORT 1/17/2020

Another Week In Paradise

Nothing exciting this week. Waded in ankle deep mud to feed and water the critters, Trimmed girls hoofs and gave them their copper. Another truckload of hay. They are going through almost a bale a day.

Made more soap. I am trying to get restocked. 2 new soaps I made this week is Lemon Verbena and Honeysuckle.

Kroger had these peppers 3/$1.00. I freeze dried 3 trays of bell peppers.

After it is dried. ! quart and 1/2 pint

We are having electric put in my canning/maple syrup shack next week. G worked on getting it ready for a light, outlet, switch and exhaust fan

We went up to Berlin Seeds in Amish country, We ordered strawberry plants and bought some seeds. I will probably start seeds next month.

We are going to modify the doe barn. We are taking out the 2 fences to make it just one big area. We only close the gates during kidding.  Our hope is that we will be able to get the tractor in to clean it. Right now we can only do the center with the tractor.

That is all the exciting news on the farm this week. We should enjoy the lull because in a few months it will be so busy.

How was your week?

  • Hi Barb. I really enjoy reading about your farm. I use to have a small farm with six horses and loved it. I really miss it. Take care and I hope you have a great year…
